Baldwin Lane Sidewalk Project

Southstar | DCCM provided construction inspection services to the San Bernardino County Department of Public Works for the Baldwin Lane Sidewalk Project in the Big Bear area. The project was implemented to improve the safety of County residents by improving access for all pedestrians, including those with disabilities.

The project consisted of construction of over one-half mile of new sidewalk and curb and gutter and construction of new or replacement of existing curb ramps at various locations in accordance with current design standards, and pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. The scope of work included field inspection of removal of existing traffic stripe, concrete, asphalt concrete, cold planning, grading, placing asphalt concrete, constructing concrete curb, curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, ADA curb ramps and asphalt dike; milling and overlaying hot mix asphalt; adjusting frame and cover to grade; reset road signs, painting traffic stripes and pavement markings.
